Alan Vander Mallie Alan Vander Mallie as a project management professional serves as the Federal Government IT Asset Manager and SmartBuy Program Policy advisor within the US General Service Administration. In his role, he directly supports civilian and military agencies to leverage the buying power of the federal government to acquire best value for taxpayers and their federal customers by encouraging them to know what they're buying, know who they are buying from, and know just how compliant are the products. Promoting responsible IT asset management through a crosscutting framework, he advocates added emphasis on strategic IT asset management and IT lifecycle governance. Alan is also working on the DataGov initiative to make government data easier for the public to find, access, and use. He has almost 30 years of civilian and military experience. He strives to deliver expert business solutions and the development of innovative and effeective management policies. His belief is that more emphasis on strategically managing system, hardware and software inventories and assets throughout their lifecycle leads to higher and intended levels of physical, logical, or technological security. |
