- Provides tools to create 19770-2:2009 software identification (SWID) tags
- Certifies software identification tags, assuring that they conform to the standard
- Digitally signs software identification tags, helping to assure tamper-free software installations
- Maintains a repository of software identification tags for legacy software applications, extending the usefulness of the standard to older software installations
- Supports the member community through education and forums for the exchange of ideas
